Walleye possesion limit
I have a question. If a group goes ice fishing for say 3 days, can we keep 3 days walleye if the previous days catch is frozen? Or is it 5 walleyes in your possesion at any time ? I know possesion limit is changing later in 2011, just need to know now please. Need some input please.

No, this year you can only legally have 1 days limit in possession.

Hadn't heard MI was going to Ontario rules. So now we can only have a day limit on hand after a weekend fishing trip?

Nope that's "always" been the law........since at least the late 60s early 70s...."one days possession limit". Whether in your boat or freezer......

Wow, can't believe I just looked that up; thought Ontario was nuts! Glad I've never kept more than a daily limit of Walleye in my freezer

This is sure to become another layer of not questioning someone's limit on this site. I agree with QFM but will be hell bent to give a report of a limit in the same month here; especially considering that LEO's have already closed a case (albeit one I'm happy to have seen closed) from posts on this site.

I post about limits all the time through the Winter. All you have to do is not have more than five fish in your freezer.....I don't eat any of them and give every single one of them away.
Neighbors, friends and family like them.

I like being able to catch fish when I go. I was happy to catch 100's of eyes in Ontario this summer and only take a daily limit home. I would be happy to catch more perch during the winter months in our side of St. Claire. But I'd be hard pressed to go out for one day with a limit and then put my shanty on moth balls. So I guess I give all my perch to my friends as well. I don'teven own a freezer.

Take it for what it's worth. I would'nt eat one of those fish out of the Bay if my life depended on it.

c'mon Jeff, their tasty. You did eat some of the ones at the Sebewaing outing didn't ya? Many of those were from the river and pre-frozen.
The possesion is per angler, so just make sure you have a few more license holders in the house, or that you store their fish for them.
