I just got the info back on my second tagged fish. The first was caught at the end of February, 22" male, tagged at Dow Dam as a 19.1" male on 4/7/2005.
The second fish was caught a couple weeks ago, a 24.5" male, tagged on 4/1/2003 at Dow Dam as a 22.5" fish.
The first fish grew about 3" in 5 years, while the second fish grew 2" in 7. I knew that walleye grew slow, but I had no idea it was that slow. Just thought I'd share the info as I found it interesting.

Males at that age do grow slower than females. That 24.5" male is an old one. They don't get much bigger according to a DNR biologist.

I read that to about the male's not growing much after they get around 20"s. Still good info.

Boy those old big females should have gray dorsal fins as old as they must be when caught! I never would have thought the growth pattern was that slow. Gotta respect a big fish, it's definately been around awhile!!
