Default Google Map of LSC Ice Fishing Spots

Inspired by the information that WALLEYEvision provided in this thread I created a Google map to share (with WALLEYEvision's permission).

Here's the link

Feel free to take a look and comment here or there. If you have something you want to share, you can either post it here and I'll put it on the map, or send me a PM and I'll give you rights to change the map. I'm especially interested in specific parking locations and common ice conditions (perhaps the air pockets at SANG?).

Enjoy!

i was thinking of the same thing, if one was to really be active you could use google earth and add locations and pictures of the parking lots to help people out... maybe even toss in a fish pic or two.... ive been trying to figure out how to add a fishing icon to the list rather than a thumb tack....

Wow... them's some quick responses! Great idea on the Pics UofM... if anyone has them, please send me a URL with the picture link and the location and I'll add them.

To change the icon, click on the placemark, then edit, then on the marker. That brings up a big list of choices. I used the fishing icon for the bait shops (did I forget any?) and the markers for the spots.

Peter... the fish are under the ice.

EDIT: updated with some more spots (thanks Double Trouble)

I added a disclaimer about ice conditions, carrying a spud, etc. If any lawyer-types can take a look I would appreciate it. Don't want any liability lawsuits!

Should be a sticky. Can answer a lot of "where's that" for new people.

Nice job.

Steve, cmon give the man a sticky.... its well worth it... very informative info that everyone on the fourm could use....

i dont have any pics of the area as this is my frist year fishing LSC but it shure would make things easier to locate the good parking spots so people wouldnt have to worry if they are parking in the right spot and if there car will be there when they get off the ice....

now someone just needs to add on and do another map of around the thumb and then another for saginaw river and the bay....

i am gonna play with the mapquest a bit.... i been trying to figure out how to add spots and pictures on google earth..... but i can only add them to my computer so i can see them... gonna take a lil more time playin i guess....
